About

My Name is Colin Clark (alias Clakarty)
I've been interested in art and design for most of my adult life. Although I am most known locally for my original beach paintings, I also use pixels to create my other form of art being graphics, logos and websites.
I was lucky enough to spend some time after leaving school, living in Zimbabwe. I lived there in the 80's - at first with my parents, who moved from England in the late 70's and lived there for 20 years and then with my sister and family, who also did the same later.
In the 2 1/2 years I lived there, most of it was spent in Chiredzi, a small town in the south eastern part of Zimabwe called the lowveld. I actually worked as a mechanic at the local garage and in the evenings, (as it got dark about 6pm) I spent some of the time drawing which, when returing to the UK, developed into painting and eventually into what I do now.
Living in Africa is something that I will be with me forever. The magic of Africa is very real.
For me, the 2 1/2 years in, Zimabwe shaped my life.
Colour

Colour plays a very important part in my work. Colour is all around us as we experience each day of our lives and without it, the world would be, well... a very different place (think about it)
I work with complimentary colours in my paintings as well when designing websites and various digital graphics. The use of colour and its meaning is, as I speak being brought more and more to peoples attention. It is now realised that colour does has an effect on are lives as well as animals that we share this world with. To find out more, visit colourtherapyhealing.com
